Unusual
relief of
the Madonna della Misericordia on a golden mosaic background. The
crowned Madonna protects four kneeling worshipers. Six other reliefs,
also with golden backgrounds, adorn the façade of the palazzo:
on the terrace level: Saint Paul, Christ Triumphant and Saint Peter;
between the windows of the third floor the Madonna della Misericordia
and Saint George and the dragon; between the windows of the second
floor, a ten-point star and a Madonna with Child, Cannaregio 1915.
How to get there. From
the fermata San Marcuola,
take Rio Terà del Cristo behind the church of San Marcuola to
the end at the wide intersection between Rio Terà San Leonardo
and Calle del Pistor. Campiello de l'Anconeta is a few meters to the
right on Calle del Pistor. |
