Corte Canal, between Rio Marin and Campo de la Lana. Santa Croce.
Canal is an old patrician name (a Rio Terà Canal can be found next to Campo
Santa Margarita in Dorsoduro.)
The two wellheads, dating from 1730, are made of Istrian stone.
It is believed that they used to have reliefs of the lion of Saint Mark.

In de' Barbari's engraving the Corte Canal area is a garden.
The Corte Canal area is below the second bridge on Rio Marin (Rio Marin ends
at the Grand Canal.)
