than 200 years old, the Chiesa del SS. Nome di Gesù (Church of
the Saintest Jesus' Name) is one of the latest additions to the
collection of churches in Venice. A neo-classical building, the work of
Giannantonio Selva and Antonio Diedo, with a distinct coffered ceiling
that offers a home to one of our lions.![]() ![]() The other lion looks mad and perhaps with a reason. It's facing one of the most unrecognizable areas of Venice to any visitor from the past, the Canale Santa Chiara. ![]() |
