Corte e Sotoportego del Papa, Castello. This small corte and sotoportego are off Calle de la Pietà and a few meters from Campo Bandiera e Moro. The name makes reference to Pope Paul II, a Venetian nobleman born Pietro Barbo (1417-1471) in this court. A plaque on a nearby building remembers him.      The portal at the entrance of the sotoportego that leads to Rio de la Pietà is from the 10th-11th century. The reliefs reminded me of those found at the entrance of Corte Pisani, off Lista Vechia dei Bari in Santa Croce. Corte Pisani
